About Scott Cagle

About Scott Cagle
Author. Researcher. Builder of Fiction.
Work and Focus
Scott Cagle comes from a background in marketing and sales. That background informs the way he writes. Each chapter moves with purpose. His fiction begins where official records end. He writes to show what the puzzle has been hiding.
His work is grounded in research. That includes older case files, fragments of news, and overlooked incidents. Nothing is added for effect. Everything points to what could not be explained clearly at the time.
That is where Rift begins.
The story moves through shifts, changes, and irregularities in memory and history. Characters do not have easy arcs. They carry damage. They ask questions no one else will. They keep going because turning away means something worse.
Personal Detail and Process
Scott lives in Georgia with his wife. He writes at night, often after a day spent in a structured role. Writing gives shape to what doesn’t fit in the margins of a business day. His approach begins with material. Files, reports, gaps in data. He constructs fiction around gaps in the records. What drives him is not invention, but alignment. Where two unrelated details suddenly look connected. Where time appears to fold.
He follows that lead, keeping the story within believable limits. The questions stay present. The answers are not handed over. They come with cost, confusion, and sometimes nothing at all.
